Welcome to The Calahonda Church

History

The Fellowship was originally known as Fuengirola Evangelical Fellowship meeting in a hotel on the beachfront with a vision to meet the needs of visitors to the Costa del Sol. Gradually the emphasis of ministry changed, the Fellowship became a registered church in Spain, changed its name to The Evangelical Christian Fellowship and re-located to Calahonda.  We are now a growing body of believers who live and work on this coast. From a relatively small group of mainly retired people, the church now has families and young working people who are full of enthusiasm for God’s work.  Drawing on the wisdom and maturity of our older saints, we are able to continue reaching out to many visitors while at the same time developing into a community church known for our faith in God’s Word

Meetings

We meet in a modern church building in Calahonda which has a very large English speaking population. Our Sunday services provide an opportunity for believers from many different backgrounds to meet together to worship God and encourage each other. We enjoy lively praise and worship and there is a strong emphasis on the preaching of the Word of God. During the week we meet in home groups in Fuengirola (Los Boliches), Mijas and Calahonda for prayer and fellowship and we have started a Bible School one night a week to teach God’s Word in a disciplined environment.

Outreach

Every member is encouraged to be a witness for the Lord by reaching out to others with God’s love and friendship. The home groups provide an opportunity to bring friends into a warm and friendly atmosphere. From time to time we present a special music production in the church to encourage members of the community to attend.

Mission Statement

Our mission statement is that we should provide an oasis where the Word of God is preached and the love of God is shared. We believe that people will be set free when the truth of God’s Word is preached so they can live a more effective life as a Christian and that those who do not know Christ would be drawn to Him through the love of God.

Missions

We believe that the church should be encouraged to pray for missionaries as well as giving practical and financial support. Our Missions Page gives details of some of the ministries which we support regularly.

Pastors

Peter and Annette Riggall who lived in South Africa for many years before settling in Spain now pastor the Fellowship. They are Bible School graduates and Peter is ordained through IFCC (International Federation of Christian Churches). He also has credentials with FEREDE in Spain. Both Peter and Annette have more than twenty years experience of pastoring and teaching in a very large ministry in South Africa.
